San Tan Valley
Owner of San Tan Valley Guitar Repair

Robert Sorace had already been working on and building guitars for years when his guitar repair side hustle began growing quickly. He enrolled in Southeast Guitar Repair Academy to strengthen his skills, become more established professionally, and support the continued growth of his business.

What were you doing professionally before enrolling?

I was working as an IT network technician.

What made you decide to enroll in guitar repair training?

I had been working on and building guitars for years, but I decided to try it as a side hustle, and it exploded.

I thought I should make myself legitimate and go through the course.

What concerns or fears did you have before getting started?

I was concerned about spending a lot of money only to find out that I already knew most of it.

Luckily, as usual, I discovered that I didn’t know nearly as much as I thought. 😂

What almost stopped you from enrolling?

Nothing.

What was your biggest breakthrough during the course?

There are too many to list. It was a collection of little tricks of the trade that made what I was already doing much easier.

Have you earned money from guitar repair work since enrolling?

Yes.

Tell us about your guitar repair business.

I own San Tan Valley Guitar Repair. In the year since I went full time, I have tripled my business.

My wait time has grown to at least one week, with the wait for larger repairs or modifications reaching about one month.

Have you started a guitar repair business?

Yes.

How has learning guitar repair changed your life?

It has made my dream of getting paid to play with cool guitars come true!

What would you say to someone who is considering enrolling but feels uncertain?

Do it now!

Would you recommend Southeast Guitar Repair Academy to others? Why?

Yes, and I already have. The lessons are great and very in-depth!
